Principal Source Prices Increase in New Catalog

Russell La Valle has announced that with this year's annual mail-order catalog—"Winter 2001-2002"—Principal Source will be raising prices on a number of its products.

"For obvious reasons, it's something that I've put off for a year," La Valle explained. "However, production costs for print, audio, and video products have all gone up since my arrival in 1998, and, with that, our profit margins on these items have diminshed accordingly. For the most part, the increases will occur with Principal Source audiotapes, whose prices have remained the same since their inception in 1997.

"Of course, for books and materials that the center purchases from outside sources, we are subject to the decisions of publishers and vendors. But in a number of cases, I've been able to negotiate favorable terms that have resulted in actual decreases in unit costs, and this is something I'll continue to do.

"For the special 'Holiday' flyer, I've maintained the current prices, and I encourage anyone who anticipates buying any The Objectivism Store products in the near future to do so before the release of the new catalog—which should arrive sometime in the latter part of November."
